Hey guys!
I've recently bought the Prophecies edition of Guild Wars. I've been enjoying it and i'm going to buy the other 2(Factions, Nightfall).

Class info:
Monk/Mesmer
Level 10
America

I met a really cool guy and he invited me to join his guild.
He ran me to "Droks" and "LA" and bought me armor from droks.

I've got a hang on the game (ex: rotations, cities, classes, armor, guilds)
but I don't know everything.

I would REALLY like to PvP in Guild Wars. It is the thing that stands out most to me.
I have watched pvp videos and have searched around for builds.
But I can't find any build for Prophecies only. :/

I have no idea what class I would enjoy and am looking for;
Advice.
Builds.
Rotations.
and anything you think that could help me out. (:

My best advice would be to get the other games before getting into PvP, or at least one more. I cba to log into make a proph-only build, but if you must, a WoH with a few heals would work. Feel free to PM me in game @ Yarun Rosespirit

this is the 2nd double thread on the main page >_< prophecies only severly limits u and puts u at a disadvantag against other players. u want to be lvl 20 to pvp. suggest making a pvp only character for full customization. u need to work on unlocking mods and skills.

The game has been designed in such a way that you require all the campaigns to PvP competently. You will also need all the skills unlocked. This is pretty unfortunate, as it must inhibit the influx of new players.

What you can do:
Prophecies has some good Monk and Warrior skills, so make a PvP only character and try these two.

Here is a monk bar for Random Arena:
11+1+1 Healing
10+1 Protection
10+1 Divine Favor
Mend Ailment
Word of Healing
Guardian
Vigorous Spirit
Holy Veil
Remove Hex
Purge Conditions
Divine Healing

Read all the skill descriptions and just try it out. You might need to unlock some skills first. Word of Healing is your big heal for when people get very low. You have two skills to remove conditions, and two skills to remove hexes. Holy Veil is a very clever skill, because you can cast it on yourself at the start of the game, and end the enchantment when you get a bad mesmer hex on you without needing to cast a spell.

Here is a Warrior bar for Random Arena:
12+1+1 Axe Mastery
12+1 Strength
3 Air Magic
Eviscerate
Executioners Strike
Disrupting Chop
Bull's Strike
Shock (Elementalist skill)
Frenzy
Rush
Resurrection Signet

The important parts of the warrior are Deep Wound, a skill to make you attack faster, and a skill to make you run faster. Frenzy will make you take double damage, so watch out, and just attack at normal speed if people are attacking you. You have to be clever and use it only when it's safe to do so. Practise and you'll get a feel for it. You can use Rush to turn off Frenzy if someone surprises you with a quick attack. Bull's strike will knock people down if you hit them while they're running, so combo it with Rush. You can also knock people down with Shock whenever you want, or use it after they get up from the Bull's strike for a knockdown chain. Make sure you get one peice of armor with the stonefist insignia to make your knockdowns last longer.

TBH this is the only functional pvp build for prophecies only, to play anything else you'll really need some xpacks and anway they contain such a huge amount more content that you won't want to play the game without them.

Also there's a lot to playing this build well, especially in RA, and pvp in general requires some skill and finesse.

- Buy expansion packs
- Obtain builds off guru or pvxwiki
- Spectate GvG matches (press b ingame)
- Join a pvp guild
- Play lots of forms of pvp (AB, FA, JQ, HA etc etc)

If you can persuade your guild to play Codex Arena, you will have access to all the skills in the deck regardless of what you've unlocked or which chapters you own.
